The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will announce Monetary Policy today (Saturday) for next two months. Independent Monetary Policy Committee (IMPC) will meet today at SBP office for deliberation on key economic issues to take a decision on key policy rate. Ashraf Mehmood Wathra Governor State Bank will chair the meeting. In the previous meeting held in September 2016, the committee kept the policy rate unchanged at 5.75 percent. Previously, policy rate was cut by 25 basis points in May 2016 on improved macroeconomic conditions.
