Wheat procurement target for Sialkot increased

SIALKOT: Food Department has increased wheat procurement target set for Sialkot district.

This was stated by District Food Controller (DFC) Sialkot Muhammad Rohail Butt here on Tuesday.

He said that now the Punjab government will purchase as many as 92,298 metric tons wheat from the district instead of purchasing 82,000 metric tons.

He said that there was a bumper wheat yield in the district during this season, due to which the food department has enhanced official wheat procurement target for the district.

DFC revealed that the official wheat procurement will begin in the district from Thursday (May 03). All arrangements regarding procurement have been finalised, he added.
