Chief Secretary sees Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a changed province after three years
Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Shahzad Arbab said three years from now he sees Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa a changed province, adding that now the provincial government is very serious about the change. This, he said, while presiding over a meeting in Peshawar on Wednesday with senior bureaucrats undertaking the 99th National Management Course (NMC) in Lahore at Civil Secretariat.
A 23-member delegation led by Dean NMC Naeem Aslam included Mrs Seemi Waheed, Mirza Shams ul Hassan, Dr Muhammad Hashim Popalzai, Rao Manzar Hayat, Ahsan Ali Kehar, Captain Akbar Hussain Durrani (Retd), Captain Asif Ali, Mian Muhammad Arshad, Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, Dr Dawood Shah, Syed Khalid Ali Raza Gardezi, Malik Abdul Hamid Balghari, Ms Hashmat Iqbal, Syed Hassan Raza, Syed Imran Raza Kazmi, Syed Imtiaz Altaf, Tahir Iqbal, Dr Jamal Nasir, Mohammad Khalid Baloch, Mohsin Hassan Butt, Mirza Nadeem Mu8nawar Baig, Tariq Najeeb Najmi, Nasir Jamal, Haque Nawaz, Noor Ali, Dr Raana Ahsan, Ahmad Raza Khan, Mohammad Salman, Shahid Hussain, Muhammad Tanvir Akhtar and Abdul Waheed.
On this occasion, the participants in the course were given briefing about the law and order, development and reforms agenda of the government. Addressing the senior bureaucrats the Chief Secretary said Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province having a dedicated team is making serious efforts for implementation of reforms agenda of the present government.
Shehzad Arbab said there were time lines set by the governments previously but that could not realise the desired targets. Sounding very optimistic about the success of the present provincial government's agenda, the Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa said transparency is very, very serious issue for which the law of Information is promulgating in the province. During the next six months to one year a system would be in place that would transform the province within three years from now, he hoped.
Regarding postings and transfers, the Chief Secretary said the government is mindful and sensitive to post right person on the right job. Dilating upon activities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on various sectors, Chief Secretary said efforts are being made to transform the education sector and in this respect the standard of government schools would be brought at par with the private schools.
Regarding the uniform curriculum, he said it is not likely to introduce it the next year; however, English language would be made compulsory from primary level initially. Environment of these schools would be improved and schools would be devolved to district and tehsil level. Regarding the donor agencies response, he said they are very excited about Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Imran Khan and his reforms agenda and want to extend their help to the province.
