KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the upper side on Thursday at 24,144.20 points with a positive change of 153.77 and volume of 94,941,200 shares. High and Low were 24,179.58 and 23,990.43 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 15 were up, 14 were down and 1 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 220,440,510 shares. Total companies traded were 381 of which 206 were positive, 147 were negative and 28 were unchanged.

Chemicals was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 60,823,200 shares. It was followed by Food and Personal Care Products with a total traded volume of 24,205,430 shares.

The three top traded companies were Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited with a volume of 34,703,500 and price per share of 10.15 (0.38), Nimir Resins Limited with a volume of 13,497,500 and price per share of 10.20 (0.97), Fauji Foods Limited with a volume of 11,467,000 and price per share of 29.39 (0.75).

The top three advancers were Bata Pakistan Limited with a volume of 120 and price per share of 2,995.17 (95.17), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 5,620 and price per share of 2,145 (45.00), Wyeth Pakistan Limited with a volume of 3,140 and price per share of 2,174.98 (40.81).

The top three decliners were Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited with a volume of 20 and price per share of 7,700 (-50.00), Service Industries Limited with a volume of 6,500 and price per share of 739.20 (-17.80), Mahmood Textile Mills Limited with a volume of 300 and price per share of 322.20 (-16.95).
