SARGODHA: The provincial government is providing Rs 25,000 interest-free loans to farmers for Rabi and Rs 40,000 for Kharif crop besides introducing modern techniques to increase per acre production.
The growers have been registered for agriculture subsidy while they have also been connected with the information technology (IT) facilities through smart phones.
The provincial government was taking a lot of steps for the welfare of farmers, Agriculture Department Director Muhammad Ramzan Niazi said thie while talking to APP on Wednesday.
He said that registered farmers were also being provided smart phones through which they could attain information about loan,weather reports and seed information.
A total 2,000 smart phones had been distributed in areas of kotmomin while process was also underway for other areas, he added.
