SC postpones Talal Chaudhry's indictment in contempt case

The Supreme Court (SC) postponed on Wednesday morning Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry's indictment in contempt of court case.
The three member bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, resumed the contempt hearing as Chaudhry appeared along with his lawyer Kamran Murtaza. The lawyer requested the bench to allow him time to present his reply.
Justice Afzal replied that the bench did not want to waste time and that Chaudhry would be indicted today, local media reported. However, on the lawyer's request the bench adjourned the hearing to March 15 (tomorrow), as Murtaza had to attend a funeral.

The SC will frame charges against Chaudhry and also hear the lawyer's argument in the next hearing. On March 8, the three member bench had decided to frame charges against Chaudhry over his anti-judiciary remarks on March 14 (today).
On February 2, the SC had issued a notice to Chaudhry for delivering disrespectful remarks against the judiciary and had summoned him to court. However, Chaudhry had denied and said, “I neither made person specific discussion nor criticized the judges during public meeting or media talks.”
