NA body on Industries and Production meets

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Standing Committee on Industries and Production Tuesday was held under the Chairmanship of Asad Umar, MNA in Parliament House.

The Standing Committee discussed the comprehensive report of the previous recommendations of the Committee and recommended to approve all the projects regarding Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 except projects related to the Aik Hunar Aik Nagar (AHAN).

The Standing Committee also discussed “the progress report on the letter of Chairman, Standing Committee dated 18-12-2017, regarding investigation of Management/Defalcation in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), Karachi, by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to fix the responsibility for the losses to country”.

The Secretary Ministry of Industries & Production briefed the Committee that work had been started on the said issue, said a press release on Tuesday.

The Standing Committee further discussed the Khadi Crafts Development Company (KCDC) on the working of the company and recommended that Secretary of Ministry of Industries & Production should give briefing based on the reasons either KCDC should go to the National / Punjab Government.
