Federal cabinet ratifies defence cooperation agreement with Kuwait

Published Updated

Federal cabinet ratified on Wednesday a defence cooperation agreement with Kuwait, formalising an arrangement aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two countries in the defence sector, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The agreement between Pakistan and Kuwait was signed on June 11, 2023, with the objective of promoting cooperation in various defence-related fields between the two brotherly countries.

The Kuwaiti government ratified the agreement on July 19, the statement said.

In August 2026, Pakistan and Kuwait signed Protocol Agreement-2026, aimed at significantly enhancing military cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen their defence partnership, saying the cooperation reflected deep trust, mutual respect and shared strategic interests between the two brotherly countries, and would contribute to mutual security and regional peace and stability.
