SSGC issues winter gas supply schedule

  • Three time slots have been fixed for supply to domestic consumers
Published Updated

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced the gas supply schedule for the winter season on Wednesday.

Under the schedule, three time slots have been fixed for supply to domestic consumers.

“This winter, as per the directives of the Government of Pakistan, SSGC is committed to prioritising domestic customers and ensuring gas availability during designated cooking hours,” SSGC said.

Under the schedule, gas will be available for breakfast from 6:30am to 9:00am, for lunch from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, and for dinner from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

SSGC is one of Pakistan’s primary gas utilities, responsible for the transmission and distribution of natural gas in the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan. The company manages a vast network spanning approximately 55,000 kilometres and serves 3.2 million customers, including 4,500 industries.

Historically, SSGC faced significant challenges, including unfinalized financial statements for several years, accumulating losses, uncontainable Unaccounted-for-Gas (UFG) or line losses, and swelling inter-enterprise liabilities contributing to gas sector circular debt.
