Futures spread surges 1,059 bps

KARACHI: The futures spread at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 1,059 basis points to positive 6.51 percent during the week ended October 23, 2026, reversing from negative 4.09 percent in the preceding week.

The sharp rebound came as average daily futures turnover declined 16.1 percent to 103.34 million shares from 123.24 million shares.

Average daily trading value in the futures market also fell 15.5 percent to Rs. 7.52 billion, compared with Rs. 8.91 billion, in the previous week. The decline amounted to Rs 1.39 billion in value, while average daily share turnover dropped by 19.90 million shares.
