S.G. Power Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited company on February 10, 1994. Initially, the company was involved in the generation and supply of electric power to its associated company, SG Allied Businesses Limited, and was classified as an independent power producer (IPP).
In May 2026, S.G. Power Limited announced plans to raise approximately Rs535 million through the issuance of rights shares. The primary purpose of this fundraising was to invest in the healthcare sector and related businesses, aiming to diversify and strengthen its revenue base.
By June 2026, the company formally completed its shift from power generation to healthcare, with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registering its new principal business as pharmaceutical allied. This change allows the company to import, export, manufacture, distribute, market, sell, rent, install, maintain, and service medical equipment, devices, hospital supplies, and pharmaceutical products.
Following this transformation, in July 2026, S.G. Power Limited entered Pakistan’s medical devices market by signing a distribution agreement with Lablink Enterprises for Nipro hospital products in Pakistan.
