It is a matter of great pride and fulfillment that the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) is celebrating its 75th Anniversary and marking this historic milestone through the publication of a special supplement highlighting its remarkable journey and contributions towards representing and protecting the interests of employers in Pakistan. Over the past seven and a half decades, EFP has demonstrated a sustained commitment to serving the employer community through its dedicated efforts and services.

As the Federal Minister responsible for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, I have personally witnessed EFP’s valuable support and constructive contribution to the development of labour policies and the advancement of the principles of decent work in Pakistan. Through its regular engagement with the Government and other stakeholders, EFP has consistently provided valuable employers’ perspectives, technical input and practical recommendations on important labour and employment matters, as well as emerging challenges faced by businesses.

As a member of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and an important constituent of the ILO’s tripartite system, EFP has played a significant role in strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with international labour standards and ensuring that the perspectives and concerns of Pakistani enterprises are represented in international discussions on labour and employment.

It is particularly encouraging that the EFP celebrations coincide with the visit of the Director-General of the ILO, Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, to Pakistan. This provides a valuable opportunity for EFP to further strengthen its longstanding relationship with the ILO and explore new areas of cooperation and practical initiatives to support Pakistani businesses in responding to evolving labour standards, compliance and regulatory requirements, and emerging sustainability expectations.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development greatly values its cooperation with EFP and looks forward to further strengthening this partnership in promoting decent employment, responsible business practices and a productive and sustainable world of work.

On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and members of the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan and wish them continued success and an even greater role in shaping the future of work, strengthening enterprises and advancing decent work and sustainable economic growth.

Pakistan Zindabad.
