On the occasion of the 75th Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP), I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the leadership and members of the Federation on reaching this important milestone.

For decades, the EFP has played an important role in representing the interests of employers and contributing to the development of Pakistan’s industrial and economic sectors. Its continued engagement with government, workers and other stakeholders has made it an important part of the country’s social dialogue and efforts to promote decent work and responsible business practices.

As Pakistan seeks to strengthen economic growth and create greater opportunities for its people, a constructive relationship among government, employers and workers remains essential. The changing world of work, technological transformation, climate change and evolving regulatory requirements are presenting new challenges that require cooperation and practical solutions.

Employers and their representative organisations have an important role in this process. Alongside representing the interests of businesses, they can contribute to sound labour and economic policies, promote decent work and support responsible and sustainable business practices.

I am confident that the EFP will continue to support Pakistani enterprises, promote respect for international labour standards and contribute to the country’s economic and social development.

I also warmly welcome the Director-General of the International Labour Organization, Mr Gilbert F. Houngbo, to Pakistan. His visit provides an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the ILO and to explore initiatives for promoting decent work and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

I wish the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan continued success and many more years of meaningful contribution to Pakistan’s economic and social development.

Pakistan Zindabad!
