Two FBR officials killed in firing incident in Dera Ismail Khan

Published Updated

Two Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) enforcement officials were killed when unidentified armed assailants opened fire on their squad at Qureshi Mor, Bypass Road, Dera Ismail Khan, on Tuesday.

According to an FBR press release, three officials of the Enforcement Squad – Sepoy Izharullah, Arm Guard Rahmatullah and Sepoy Sulaiman – were performing duty at the designated point at around 11:30am when unidentified armed men arrived and opened fire.

As a result, Arm Guard Rahmatullah and Sepoy Sulaiman were martyred, while Sepoy Izharullah remained safe.

The FBR said Izharullah returned fire during the incident, following which the assailants fled the scene. The attackers also took away official arms and ammunition issued to the squad personnel.

FBR chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial expressed condolences to the families of the martyred officials and paid tribute to their courage and commitment.

He said the sacrifices rendered by FBR personnel in the line of duty would not be forgotten.

The FBR also said it stood firmly with the families of the martyred officials and all personnel performing their duties in the service of the country.
