ISLAMABAD: Pakistan carried out precise aerial and drone strikes against two terrorist camps in areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime, destroying hideouts belonging to “Fitna al Khwarij” and “Fitna al Hindustan” along with large quantities of weapons and ammunition, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) said on Thursday.

According to the ministry, the targeted strikes were conducted with drones and aircraft and “comprehensively destroyed” terrorist hideouts and camps at two separate locations.

“Through precise aerial and drone strikes, terrorist hideouts and camps belonging to Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan at two locations in areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime were comprehensively destroyed,” the ministry said.

The MoIB said the strikes were calibrated and carried out with high precision against the identified terrorist infrastructure. It added that large quantities of weapons and ammunition stockpiled at the camps and hideouts were also destroyed during the operation.

The ministry said the targeted and comprehensive aerial action had dismantled the terrorist network operating from the two locations. It also shared a video clip on its social media platforms, which it said showed the latest developments related to Operation Ghazablil Haq.

“Large quantities of weapons and ammunition stockpiled at the terrorist hideouts/camps were also destroyed through calibrated and precisely targeted aerial strikes,” the ministry said.

The latest operation comes amid heightened tensions between Islamabad and Kabul over Pakistan’s repeated concerns regarding terrorist groups allegedly operating from Afghan territory.

Pakistani authorities have consistently maintained that terrorist organisations using Afghan soil pose a direct security threat to Pakistan and have urged the Afghan Taliban authorities to take effective action against such groups.

Thursday’s statement, however, specifically confirmed the destruction of camps linked to Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan at two locations inside areas controlled by the Afghan Taliban regime.

No immediate details were provided by the ministry regarding casualties from the strikes or the exact locations of the targeted camps.
