Published Updated

The federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs2.84 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2.28 per litre, effective from Friday, September 4.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of Motor Spirit (petrol) was increased by Rs2.84 per litre, taking it from Rs346.16 to Rs349.00 per litre.

High Speed Diesel (HSD) saw a hike of Rs2.28 per litre, rising from Rs372.03 to Rs374.31 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until Friday, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Wednesday, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs2.29 per litre and diesel’s by Rs1.11 per litre.
