  • New prices will be effective for Friday, August 28
Published Updated

The federal government decreased the price of petrol by Re0.50 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Re0.19 per litre, effective from Friday, August 28.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The price of petrol was decreased by Re0.50 per litre, taking it from Rs343.10 to Rs342.60 per litre.

The price of HSD was declined by Re0.19 per litre, from Rs371.80 to Rs371.61 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect until tomorrow, in line with the government’s ongoing practice of adjusting fuel prices based on international oil markets and other cost factors.

In the previous review on Tuesday, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs1.12 per litre and diesel by Rs1.11 per litre.
