Sri Lankan shares rise for fourth session as real estate, communication stocks gain

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Monday, marking their fourth straight session of gains, led by gains in real estate and communication services stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled up 0.22% at 21,417.47.
SMB Finance PLC and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 123.9 million shares from 122.3 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 3.81 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($11.4 million) from 1.89 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 2.38 billion rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 3.79 billion rupees, the data showed.
