KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Sunday visited Dar-ul-Sukun where he spent time with special children.
He described service to humanity as the hallmark of a compassionate and civilized society.
The children warmly welcomed the governor, who said their affection, sincerity and smiles had made the visit an unforgettable experience.
Later, addressing a memorial ceremony held in honour of Dr. Faisal Nadeem, the governor paid tribute to the management and staff of Dar-ul-Sukun for their unwavering commitment to the care and rehabilitation of children with special needs.
He particularly praised Sister Nargis and her team, saying they provided motherly love, care and protection to children who had been deprived of parental support.
”I had the privilege of meeting these innocent children today. Their unconditional love and smiles remind us of the true meaning of humanity, compassion and selfless service,” he said.
The governor said caring for children with special needs was a collective national responsibility as they deserved quality education, proper upbringing and the opportunity to live with dignity.
He said institutions such as Dar-ul-Sukun symbolized hope and compassion by providing a safe, nurturing and dignified environment for vulnerable children.
Hashmi urged society to move beyond personal interests and dedicate time and resources to serving humanity.
Nations achieve greatness not only through economic development but through empathy, generosity and care for the vulnerable.
