KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Sunday reaffirmed the government’s support to foster a business-friendly environment, promote investment and accelerate industrial and export-led growth.

Resolution of the industrialists’ issues remains a key priority of the government, he pledged in a meeting with the Chairman of the Businessmen Group, M. Zubair Motiwala, President of the SITE Association of Industry, Abdul Rehman Fuda, former KCCI president, M. Javed Bilwani, and other leading industrialists here at the Governor’s House.

The meeting focused on measures to strengthen industry and commerce, attract investment, expand exports, improve the ease of doing business, introduce an effective one-window operation, and enhance government facilitation for the industrial sector.

Hashmi said the business community plays an indispensable role in economic stability, increasing exports, generating employment and driving the country’s industrial development.

He said the federal government is undertaking concrete measures to promote domestic and foreign investment, simplify business procedures and provide maximum support to industry in order to stimulate sustainable economic growth.

“The government’s foremost priority is to address the concerns of industrialists, increase industrial output, expand exports and create new employment opportunities,” he said.

Accepting an invitation from BMG chairman M. Zubair Motiwala, the governor announced that he would soon visit the SITE Industrial Area to interact directly with the industrialists and review issues confronting the country’s largest industrial estate.

He emphasized that sustained engagement with the business community and regular visits to industrial zones would enable the government to better understand ground realities and formulate practical, long-term solutions to the challenges facing industry.

During the meeting, representatives of the business community highlighted key issues affecting the industrial sector and exchanged views on policy measures aimed at improving competitiveness, boosting exports and creating a more conducive investment climate.

Zubair Motiwala and Javed Bilwani appreciated the governor’s commitment to the promotion of industry and trade and assured him of the business community’s full cooperation in efforts to strengthen the economy, enhance industrial growth and improve Pakistan’s investment environment.
