Cashless payments go live at all passport offices across Pakistan: Naqvi

  • Says applicants would no longer have to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments
Published Updated

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Wednesday that cashless transactions had become operational at all passport offices across Pakistan, saying the move would make passport services faster and more convenient for citizens.

“Alhamdulillah, starting today, cashless transactions are operational at all Passport Offices across Pakistan,” Naqvi said in a post on X.

He said applicants would no longer have to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments, adding that the reform had been introduced on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Naqvi described the initiative as another step towards improving public service delivery by making it faster, more transparent and more convenient for citizens.

He also commended the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports team for implementing the reform and said the government would continue pursuing further improvements in public services.
