ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday conducted a successful training fire of the indigenously developed Fatah-4 Ground Launched Cruise Missile, with the military saying the exercise was aimed at enhancing operational readiness and validating the weapon system’s advanced technical capabilities.

According to the military’s media wing, the missile system is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, enabling it to engage long-range targets with high precision. The training fire was carried out by the Army Rocket Force Command to assess the performance of various sub-systems designed to improve accuracy and survivability.

Senior officers of the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command, along with scientists and engineers from the developing agency, witnessed the launch.

The ISPR said President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the teams involved in the successful training fire.

They appreciated the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment of all personnel who contributed to the development and successful firing of the F-series missile system.
