PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports for the 2025/26 season reached 19.28 million metric tons by April 24, a slight increase from 19.01 million tons the previous week and up 6perent from the same point in 2024/25, European Commission data showed on Tuesday.

The Commission said that due to technical issues the report included data until Friday, April 24 only. Data usually covers up to the Sunday.

Romania remained the leading EU soft wheat exporter with 6.35 million tons, followed by France at 4.92 million tons, Poland with 2.59 million tons, Lithuania at 1.86 million tons, and Germany at 1.68 million tons.

The Commission noted that export data for France was incomplete since the start of calendar year 2024, for Bulgaria and Ireland since the start of the 2023/24 marketing year and for Greece since January 2026. Unusually high Romanian durum wheat export figures for 2025/26 may be linked to a reporting error, it said.

EU barley exports for 2025/26 were 7.95 million tons, up from 7.87 million tons the previous week and 80perent higher than a year earlier.
