LONDON: European stock markets extended heavy losses at the start of trading on Monday following sharp falls for Asian equities as oil prices jumped on the escalating Middle East war.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 1.4 percent, Paris lost 1.7 percent and Frankfurt tumbled 2.0 percent.
