PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports since the start of the 2025/26 season in July had reached 15.11 million metric tons by February 15, compared with 13.43 million the previous week and up 11percent from a year earlier, European Commission data showed on Tuesday.

A breakdown of this season’s volumes showed Romania was still the largest EU soft wheat exporter, with 4.75 million tons exported so far, followed by France on 4.23 million tons, Lithuania and Poland with 1.71 million tons each and Germany with 1.16 million tons.

EU barley exports so far in 2025/26 totalled 6.13 million tons, against 5.95 million tons a week earlier and up 86percent from the corresponding period of 2024/25.

In imports, the volume of maize shipped into the EU so far this season had reached 10.88 million tons, versus 10.39 million tons a week earlier and 18percent below the its level by the same time last year.

However, the Commission said grain export data for France has been incomplete since the start of 2024.
