LAHORE: Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that Pakistan was observing it’s first-ever AI Week, which would open new avenues for the youth in the field of emerging technologies.

Despite economic challenges, the country’s situation was improving day by day, and the government was expanding partnerships with friendly countries to create more opportunities for education, training and employment for youth, Rana Mashhood said while addressing a ceremony held here in Gulshan-e-Ravi on Wednesday for the distribution of relief goods among deserving people with the support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to him, the government was taking comprehensive measures to provide dignified employment to the young and enable them to become self-reliant. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the PM’s Youth Programme was being further strengthened to equip young people with world-class education and modern skills.

Under the leadership of prime minister, he said, Pakistan was achieving diplomatic successes, the economy was moving in the right direction and the international community viewed Pakistan with respect. He said the era of darkness had ended and the country was moving towards progress and prosperity.

Owing to the good governance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Lahore was witnessing a new phase of development and prosperity after two decades, while the province was advancing rapidly on the path of growth, Rana said, adding: “Pakistan’s role in regional and global affairs had become indispensable, and the international community looked towards Pakistan at important junctures.”

Rana Mashhood said some elements were attempting to promote politics of chaos instead of performance, but the nation had rejected such attitudes. He said the prime minister was visiting the United States to attend a peace conference, reflecting Pakistan’s positive global role.

He further said that through better strategy and modern technology, Pakistan had responded effectively to aggression, and had also played a constructive diplomatic role in supporting Bangladesh in international forums. He said the green crescent flag symbolised Pakistan’s true identity and unity, urging the nation to remain united under its banner.

On the occasion, UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Saleem Al-Zaabi distributed relief goods among the deserving families.

The ambassador thanked Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan for providing the opportunity to serve. He said the UAE had previously assisted flood-affected people in Pakistan and would continue its humanitarian support in the future. Calling Pakistan a brotherly Islamic country, he reaffirmed that the UAE would stand by the people of Pakistan in difficult times.
