Activities of Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 304,875 tonnes of cargo comprising 204,858 tonnes of import cargo and 100,017 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours, ending at 0700 Hours.

The total import cargo of 204,858 tonnes comprised of 124,872 tonnes of Containerized Cargo,27,686 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo,1,971 tonnes of Chickpeas, 4,576 tonnes of DAP, 5, 975 tonnes of Lentils, 1,170 tonnes of Soya Bean Seed & 38,608 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 100,017 tonnes comprised of 75,069 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 1,271 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo, 8,422 tonnes of Cement & 15,255 tonnes of Clinkers.

Approximately, 10 ships namely, Seaspan Santos, Zaya, GFS Gisele, OOCL Jakarta, Tian Li, Red Cosmos, Ginga, Endurance, TS Keelung & Yasa Mars berthed at the Karachi Port Trust.

Around, 11 ships namely, Ayrin, Zhuo Yue Yuan, Yang, Cma Cgm Cassiopeia, Araya Bhum, Kurt Mas, Sidra, Royal Midori, Lowlands Engel & Seaspan Santos sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.

PORT QASIM

A total of six ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them a containers ship ‘G Washington Bridge’ left the port on Monday morning, Meanwhile two more ships, Asia Inspire and Bering Gas are expected to sail on today afternoon.

Cargo volume of47,962 tonnes, comprising 30,271 tonnes imports cargo and17,691 export cargo carried in 1,162 Containers (426 TEUs Imports & 736 TEUs Export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 16 ships at Outer Anchorage of the Port Qasim, out of them three ships, Floyen, Stolt Argon and Pacific Apex & another ship ‘Seaspan Santos’ are carrying Palm oil, Chemicals, Coal and Container are expected to take berths at LCT, EVTL, PIBT and QICT on Monday 5th January, 2026.
