LAHORE: The National Cricket Academy (NCA) with the support of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will host the first-ever Foundational Biomechanics Course – a programme aimed at integrating modern sports science into cricket coaching and player development.

The two-day course, which will commence on Thursday (today) the NCA, will feature 27 participants. Among them are 11 Test cricketers, including Abdur Rehman, Aizaz Cheema, Ashraf Ali, Humayun Farhat, Ijaz Ahmed Jnr, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Salman, Salman Butt, Syed Wajahatullah, Wahab Riaz and Zulfiqar Babar.

The instructors, which include Dr Mian Muhammad Awais, Dr Imran Abbas, Shahid Aslam and other NCA coaches, will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the kinetics and kinematics involved in batting, bowling and fielding. By combining theoretical concepts with practical application, the programme is designed to equip participants with the tools required to enhance player performance and reduce injury risks, a PCB spokesman said.
