Egyptian foreign minister due in Pakistan today

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Dr Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty will undertake an official visit to Pakistan on November 29-30, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

The Foreign Office (FO) said the visit reflects the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Egypt, grounded in common faith, cultural affinity, and shared perspectives on regional and international issues.

“It will contribute to further strengthening the strategic direction of Pakistan-Egypt relations and placing them on a broader trajectory, with a focus on political, economic, defence, cultural, and people-to-people cooperation,” the FO said.

COAS Munir, Egypt’s el-Sisi take stock of situation

During the visit, the Egyptian foreign minister will hold a tête-à-tête meeting and delegation-level talks with the deputy prime minister. The two sides will review the full range of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments, including the situation in Gaza.

The visit of Dr Badr is expected to reinforce Pakistan-Egypt cooperation and further advance the longstanding partnership between the two brotherly countries.

Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir called on President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo.

During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on bilateral relations, reaffirming the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.

The chief of army staff commended the Egyptian leadership for key role in the region’s peace and stability, while President el-Sisi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s positive and proactive contributions to matters of importance for the World and Muslim Ummah. Both leaders underlined the importance of coordination on matters of mutual strategic interests and strengthening people-to-people contacts.
