LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to further activate survey teams across the province in order to bring unregistered businesses into the tax net.
Chairman PRA Moazzam Iqbal has directed all divisional commissioners to complete the survey and registration of beauty clinics by December this year. "A large number of beauty clinics earning tens of millions annually have been found non-tax compliant, despite generating substantial income," PRA officials said. Now, they added, the PRA has decided to further strengthen survey teams across the province to bring these clinics into the tax net.
During the survey, according to officials, clinics will be formally registered and connected with the Electronic Invoice System (EIMS). To address the shortage of officers, additional enforcement officers are being deployed in the field. The performance and digital monitoring of officers and staff will also be expanded through a dedicated cell. Furthermore, operators delaying or failing to pay taxes will be digitally monitored.
The officials stated that work is also underway to modernize the PRA through legal reforms and improvements in the administrative structure.
