Saudi FM confident Pakistan visit will deliver ‘significant benefits’ for two countries

  • Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud says impressed by the ‘proactive’ approach of Pakistan

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud has expressed confidence that his Pakistan visit will yield “significant benefits” for the two countries by realizing the potential of untapped economic development, Aaj News reported on Tuesday.

“In our meetings, especially with the SIFC, we were extremely impressed by the proactive attitude,” he said at a press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar.

“I can say that there is a big opportunity to increase the level of investment which is already on the table.”

The Saudi ambassador described the visit as “very positive” and stated that “significant and important work to be done in the next few months to achieve all of the potential that exists.”

He declared that Pakistan’s unrealized potential was something the kingdom firmly believed in, especially about its “clear to everyone” potential for economic development.

In addition to thanking Pakistani authorities for their insights into the “excellent opportunities” surrounding investment that may potentially be realized, he said, “Working together, we will do what we can with our colleagues in the Government of Pakistan to make that happen.”

According to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the two had in-depth conversations about a wide range of topics related to their multidimensional collaboration. He said that the visit had given the Saudi team direct knowledge of the SIFC and that he appreciated the “keen interest” of the Saudi leadership in boosting investments in Pakistan.

In an effort to expedite the $5 billion investment in Pakistan, a delegation led by Prince Faisal landed in Pakistan on Monday.

The prime minister during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia invited Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, at the earliest convenience, which was accepted by the Crown Prince.
