Sri Lankan batting legend Kumar Sangakkara has praised fellow Multan Sultans skipper Shoaib Malik for his leadership in the ongoing third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“He [Malik] has been great as a leader because he is very calm. He never puts pressure on us but expects us just to do the job that we are supposed to do,” said Sangkkara, quoted local media.

Malik side has been ruling the rooster, despite being a newbie making its debut in this year’s PSL. The Sultans are on top of the table with seven points of five matches, winning three and losing one, while one match ended in no result.

Sangakkara, the leading run maker in this years PSL so far with 177 runs, praised the ongoing Pakistan’s T20 tournament, for its ‘level of competition’ terming it among the best T20 leagues.

“I think the level of competition is extremely high. Some of the best internationals going around playing and some great young talent from Pakistan, some senior talent, so I think its one of the best leagues out there,” he said.

The Sultans would take on Peshawar Zalmi at Dubai on Tuesday, March 6.
