Well-known outlet sealed over failure to install PoS app

RAWALPINDI: The Regional Tax Office (RTO), Rawalpindi, on Thursday sealed a famous business outlet over failure to install the Point of Sale (PoS) app on their systems and connecting their systems to the FBR for tax collection.

Additional Commissioner Income Tax Kamran Ullah took action against Carobar/ Karegar, a garments/ cloth shop located on Kashmir Road, Saddar, for failing to install PoS app under the sales tax act 1990, said a press release.

The RTO Rawalpindi is committed to bringing all major retailers under its tax net by integrating them with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR's) online system.

It is pertinent to note that FBR has allowed its field formations to seal Tier-1 retailers’ outlets by amending provisions relating to penalties of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
