West Indies legendary fast bowler Courtney Walsh, hailed as one of the best bowlers ever, praised Pakistan’s World Cup winning skipper Imran Khan by calling him the force that ‘changed Pakistan cricket.’

“A good captain must be able to bring in change and keep his footprint in the history books. This is why I am a big fan of Imran's captaincy. He changed Pakistan cricket with his vision and positive approach,” said Walsh, quoted Indian Telegraph.

Walsh applauded Khan’s approach of supporting youngsters including superstars Wasim Akram and  Waqar Younis.

"Most importantly, he encouraged and backed youngsters like Wasim and Waqar. He produced a champion team. He nurtured a dream and produced it," said Walsh.

Imran is regularly ranked among the most influential cricketers ever, being a gifted leader added with exceptional all-round talent, Imran was an icon for many. Earlier, former Indian batsman turned cricket commentator Manjrekar shared an incident with then Pakistani captain Imran.

“In the Faisalabad Test, Sachin Tendulkar got light feather of a touch as he looked to work it off his hip. It was such a faint edge that no one appealed. Except for Imran, who was at mid-on,” wrote Manjrekar.

“At the end of the over, Tendulkar and I got together, and he said, ‘What a guy, what sharp ears’. He knew he had edged it,” Manjrekar added.
