Social media slams Umar Akmal after Qalandars' defeat

Umar Akmal became a bashing target on social media yet again, after his dismal batting performance for his side Lahore Qalandars against arch-rivals Karachi Kings at the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) Monday night.

Lahore Qalandars failed to reverse their losing trend, despite a valiant effort by skipper Brendon McCullum, who played a blistering 44 runs of 30 deliveries, but to no avail after his side tumbled on 132 runs, losing the game by 27 runs.

Umar Akmal was the prime target, after he was unable to read Afridi’s flighted delivery and was stumped on six of five deliveries.

I can never be convinced that Umar Akmal is or ever was exceptionally talented. Had an occasional glorious shot in him, yes. But when it mattered, he failed 90% of the times and mostly got out to pretty ordinary deliveries. There's a clear lack of skill.
