ISLAMABAD: A delegation of parliamentary parties Monday visited Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and received briefing on electoral rolls and delimitation.
The ECP officials assured the delegation for conducting free, fair and transparent upcoming general election.
They said the commission would finalize its work by the first week of May 2018 on delimitation and review of electoral rolls.
They also informed the representatives of different parliamentary parties regarding special steps taken by the ECP for issuing new computerized national identity cards to women and register them in voters’ lists.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza informed the delegation that the commission was fulfilling its responsibilities in accordance with the law and Constitution.
The parliamentarians appreciated the steps of ECP and assured their full cooperation.
