ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Standing Committee of National Assembly on Defence Production was held here in Parliament House on Monday under the chairmanship of Member National Assembly (MNA), Khawaja Sohail Mansoor.
Managing Director, Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS & EW) briefed the committee about the ongoing and new Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
He said that Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and Central Development Working Party (CDWP) had already approved two projects i.e. the upgradation of ship lifting system and infrastructure development of Karachi Shipyard.
The Committee strongly recommended to Ministry of Finance and Revenue for providing the requisite funds on priority basis, due to the importance of said projects.
The Committee appreciated the role of KS&EW under the supervision of its management and Minister for Defence Production.
The meeting was attended by MNAs - Muhammad Khan Daha, Amra Khan, Shah Jahan Baloch, Asiya Nasir, Bilal Rehman and the senior officers of the Ministry of Defence Production and Karachi Shipyard.
