Published January 28, 2021 Updated January 28, 2021 04:40am

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Wednesday claimed to have succeeded in getting its aircraft released, impounded by Malaysian authorities as part of a legal dispute of $ 14 million between the airline and the leasing company.

According to the PIA spokesman, the aircraft has been released after successful talks with leasing company and the plane would return from Kuala Lumpur on January 29, 2020 as a regular flight. He said that the Malaysian court has dismissed the case and the aircraft Boeing 777 would now fly back to Pakistan carrying passengers on its regular flight PK 895 from Kuala Lumpur on January 29.

Furthermore, he said that all necessary arrangements were being made including deployment of crew which had already been sent for return of the aircraft.
