LONDON: The global zinc market deficit narrowed to 48,600 tonnes in December from a revised deficit of 65,700 tonnes in November, data from the International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) showed on Tuesday.
In 2017, the zinc market deficit was 495,000 tonnes compared with a deficit of 122,000 tonnes in the same period in the prior year.
ILZSG said total refined zinc stocks, including those held by consumers, producers and in exchange warehouses, rose to 1,024.70 tonnes at the end of December from 1,045.60 tonnes at the end of November.
