Electricity shortage in Karachi

LETTER: The power crisis in Karachi seems to have turned into a kind of blessing in disguise for K-Electric as the federal government has decided to enhance power supply to it from the national grid. The federal government is supplying over 650MW electricity to the power utility from national grid. Meanwhile, prime minister Imran Khan directed his team members to hold meeting with the management of the K-Electric for early resolution of the issues with the company.

Now the K-Electric is required to pull its socks up without any further loss of time. Any complacency on its part can lead to increased social unrest on a massive scale in a city of teeming millions.
