LETTER: The PTI government deserves praise for its approach to the Covid-19 challenge. Deciding to launch a second phase of Ehsaas cash programme to mitigate the sufferings for weaker segments of society is a step in the right direction.
Having said that, I wish to highlight government's abject failure in implementing SOPs at public places to contain the spread of coronavirus. Moreover, Planning Minister Asad Umar's over-optimism in relation to the battle against the deadly virus appears to be breeding complacency to weaken government machinery's otherwise firm resolve in this regard.
