Extension in pre-arrest bail: Shahbaz approaches LHC seeking exemption

LAHORE: PML-N president and opposition leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has approached the Lahore High Court seeking exemption from personal appearance and extension of pre- arrest bail in reference assets beyond means.

A two member bench is set to hearing bail petition of Shahbaz Shairf on Tuesday (today). On previous hearing, the court had asked Shahbaz to get conducted his Coronavirus test from Institute of Public Health Sciences (IPHS).

Shahbaz Sharif in his petition said, no one from IPHS contacted him for the test but he got conducted test from a private laboratory. He, however, said he due to old age was undergoing fatigue after Coronavirus attack and living in isolation at home under the supervision of doctors.

He said under such circumstances it will be highly risky for him to go to public place. He asked the court to allow him exemption from personal appearance and extend his pre arrest bail for three weeks.
