The University of Peshawar (UoP) has established IT source and research lab worth of Rs 2.2 million for carrying out research activities in the university. The university acting Vice Chancellor and Dean Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Studies, Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz formally inaugurated the IT lab during a ceremony held here on Monday.
The laboratory will facilitate students of M.Phil and Ph.D. of the Department of Social Work, Sociology and Gender Studies, University of Peshawar. The Director Department of Social Work, Sociology and Gender Studies, Professor Dr Johar Ali while giving briefing to the chief guest said that internet facility with statistical packaging for social sciences would be available in the computer lab in order to use scholars for research purposes. Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz stressed upon the teachers to train and direct the students about optimum use of computers in order to cultivate knowledge in them.
