Wali Babar murder case: amended challan can be submitted

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Monday granted request of the prosecution for submitting amended charge sheet after inserting section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) in Wali Khan Babar murder case. The court after hearing arguments in the application, filed by the public prosecutor against exclusion of ATA section 7 from the charge sheet submitted by the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, allowed submission of amended challan.
Wali Babar, a local journalist, was shot dead here on January 13, 2011 while five accused identified as Mohammad Shahrukh, Faisal Mehmood, Mohammad Shakeel, Naveed alias Polka, Syed Mohammad Ali Rizvi were arrested in this case and challaned. The ATC headed by Judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon also issued the notices for February 27 for re-framing the charge sheet.
