Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan has strongly condemned the bill introduced in the US House of Representatives for "self determination right to the Balochistan people", terming it a blatant interference in Pakistan's internal affairs. In a statement here on Saturday, he said the US had come out openly against his country and it might use the UN platform to separate Balochistan from this country in the manner it had done in the case of East Taimur and South Sudan.
He stressed upon the government to review its ties with the US, end its support to the US in the terror war and devise an independent foreign policy, while efforts be made for the formation of a Muslim bloc with the support of China, Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey.
JI Ameer said that on one hand, US drones were violating Pakistan's airspace while on the other it was most shamelessly supporting plans aiming at the break up of this country. "The bill introduced in the US House of Representatives made it quite clear that the US and India both were behind the Baloch nationalists and were distributing arms and funds among them." He wondered if this move did not open the eyes of the rulers and they still expected good from Washington.
Syed Munawar Hasan said India had been carrying out state terrorism in the disputed state of Kashmir and committing gross human rights violations. "It had killed lakhs of Kashmiris while thousands of women had been criminally assaulted." At the same time, he said, dozens of separatist movements were going on in India.
He said it was surprising that the US did not take notice of Indian excesses. The UN had adopted a number of resolutions assuring right of self determination to the Kashmiris but there was no world pressure on India to implement those resolutions. Besides, he said, the US had been openly supporting Israel and was thus fully involved in the massacre of innocent Palestinians. Every resolution against Israel was vetoed by Washington to obstruct any action against the Zionist state. He said the UN resolution on East Taimur and South Sudan were implemented promptly because Christian population was to benefit whereas the resolution seeking the same right for the Muslim Majority were being ignored.
