House bill has nothing to do with foreign policy: US embassy says...
The United States Embassy in Islamabad on Saturday said the introduction of a bill in US House of Representatives has nothing to do with Washington's foreign policy and that it respects Pakistan's sovereignty. An official of the embassy while talking to Business Recorder said that congressional hearings often took place in Washington on various issues, but this isn't reflection of the US foreign policy.
"Balochistan is Pakistan's internal matter and we respect its sovereignty," said the official, adding that it was the Executive Branch of the US government to frame the country's foreign policy. The US House move has angered Pakistan, which termed it a self-serving attempt on the part of those who were driven by arrogance and ignorance alone and that the bill shows utter disrespect for international norms and practices.
