LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Friday directed the authorities concerned to ensure hundred per cent facts-based investigations into the Kasur incident.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of cabinet's sub-committee on law and order, here.

Addressing the meeting, he said that the JIT was working in a professional manner and there should be no room for any mistake or negligence in its investigations. The best professional capabilities should be utilised for investigations, he added.

"Cruelty with Zainab in Kasur is a matter of concern for the whole nation and every person should fulfill its social responsibility to curb such happenings in future," he said.

He said that the JIT should be approached if anybody has clues about Zainab murder case. He said that Zainab was daughter of the nation and strenuous efforts were being made to bring the murderer to book.

"Creation of any ambiguity about Zainab murder case was tantamount to affecting the investigations and keeping in view the sensitive nature of this case; media should fulfill its social responsibilities carefully," he added.

The CM said that the arrest of the criminal was the result of hard work of investigation teams as the cruelty meted out with innocent Zainab had made the nation unnerved.

He said that record of the State Bank, NADRA and other agencies would be solicited for investigation into the case.

He said that Asma of Mardan was also a daughter of the nation. "We are very much upset over the cruelty meted out with her," he added.

The DNA test of Asma had been completed in the forensic lab record and the government was ready for further cooperation in this regard.
