The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has extended the last date of filing Form-29 to Friday, November 18, to facilitate the corporate sector. The last date of filing Form 29 for most of the companies is November 14. This extension shall be applicable to both online and offline filing of Form 29.
The corporate sector and relevant quarters had requested the SECP to extend the last date in view of Eid holidays and that most of the companies are already busy in filing of their income tax returns with the FBR which made it difficult to prepare and file Form-29 with the SECP in time.
The companies are required to file annual returns on Forms A/B within 45 days, in case of listed companies and 30 days in case of other companies, of holding of annual general meetings (AGMs). The annual audited accounts are also required to be filed within 30 days of holding of AGMs. This initiative has been undertaken by the SECP to extend facilitation to companies in timely filing of returns and to accelerate the rate of corporate compliance in the country.-PR
