Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif called on Friday for imposing ban on the political parties having militant wings. "Government knows very well about the political parties who have militant wings and in view of Supreme Court verdict in suo motu case of Karachi violence, the government should file reference against those parties," he said while talking to newsmen at the residence of former MPA Dr Bahadur Dahri at Daulatpur town this morning.
Nawaz Sharif said Karachi, once the city of lights, has been destroyed by bloodshed and the government knows who is involved in it. Describing the present government as most corrupt government in the history of Pakistan, PML-N chief said the present rulers are least interested in resolving the issues faced by the masses, and instead they are spending national exchequer on their own luxuries. "The power crisis could have been resolved if the rulers wanted, but it did only when the masses took to streets.
He lamented that 450MW rental power plant was inoperative since a year at Karachi coast for being government's indecisiveness. Nawaz Sharif said the government was wasting Rs 400 billion yearly on unnnecessary expenditures. "They have been spending billions of rupees on railway, steel mills and PIA without any result.
To a question, Nawaz Sharif said: "We wanted to bring a revolution through Charter of Democracy but Zardari didn't want any revolution. When asked about Kala Bagh Dam, PML-N chief said after coming into power he would not take any decision that could create ill-feeling among any province. About any alliance with nationalists in Sindh, he said decision would be taken at the time of elections. Nawaz Sharif also addressed a public meeting at Sakrand town and said he has come to take stock of the situation and help those affected by the floods.
