Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 137,062 tonnes of cargo including 103,893 tonnes of import cargo, 33,169 tonnes of export cargo and 3,367 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 103,893 tonnes comprised of 24,732 tonnes of containerised cargo; 24,155 tonne of general cargo; 7,728 tonnes of bulk cargo: 824 tonnes of wheat; 1,394 tonnes of soyabeen seeds; 3,482 tonnes of fertiliser; 2,028 tonnes of rock phosphate and 47,278 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,169 tonnes comprised of 23,149 tonnes of containerised cargo; 90 tonnes of general cargo; 1,830 tonnes of cement and 8,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Hyundai Independence, Hadis, Rio Grande Express and MT Quetta with three container ships and crude oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Hadis, Rio Grande Express, Caribbean Sea, Emirates Kabir, Sima North, Peace Fortune and Chemroad Sun carrying four container ships, two general cargo ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Caribbean Sea, Peace Fortune and Royal Crystal-7 carrying container ship, general cargo ship and palm oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Friday, while three ships namely Kota Anggerik, Chemroute Sun and Lady Hind carrying container ship, ethanol ship and DAP carrier respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz Kota Anggerik, APL Guangzhou, HS Challenger and Shaker-1 carrying four container ships and general cargo ship respectively due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz Teera Bhum, YM Fuzhou, Armis, Valdivia, Blossom, Songa Hawk and SCF Pioneer carrying four container ships, ethanol ship, Styrene carrier and mogas ship are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 83,002 tonnes, comprising 59,991 tonnes of import cargo and 23,011 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,697 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 59,991 tonnes includes 30,861 tonnes of furnace oil; 3,800 tonnes of palm oil and 25,330 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,011 tonnes includes 2,492 tonnes of cement and 20,519 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three container ships namely CV Nora Maersk, CV Maersk Davenport and CV OOCL San Francisco; an edible oil carrier MT Bunga Alpinia and an oil tanker namely MT Kassos sailed out to sea on Friday morning.
A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk Davenport, CV OOCL San Francisco, CV Nora Maersk, MV Orient-II, MV Vinaline Sky, MT Bunga Alpinia and MT Kassos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Three ships namely Crisopigi Lady, Analipsi Lady and Al-Soor-II carrying three diesel oil tankers are currently at the outer anchorage.
An oil tanker namely Analipsi Lady carrying 49,600 tonnes of diesel oil is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Friday, while a container vessel viz CV MSC Anafi is due to arrive on the same day. Two more container ships namely CV CMA CGM Puget and CV Elbe Trader are due to arrive on Saturday. A total number of seven container ships namely CV Maersk Utha, CV Maersk Kolkata, Al-Farahidi, CV CMA CGM Verdi, CV New Delhi Express, CV Nele Maersk and CV MSC Sena are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
